Resident life at the Kirov Academy of Ballet (KAB) is a unique and unforgettable experience. KAB provides a safe and healthy environment, giving our students the freedom to enjoy growing up while also providing the structure necessary to build character.
The Ballet Lifestyle
The grace, discipline and poise of the ballet lifestyle are combined with the spontaneity, creativity and enthusiasm of developing young adults. KAB looks for qualities of caring, compassion and common sense in all Resident Advisors. They know how to give responsible guidance with a parent’s heart.
A number of time-honored traditions are upheld each year at KAB. Each school year features an all-school picnic; Halloween is a particularly SPOOKY time at the academy; Spirit Week arrives around mid-February; and the school year culminates in a Year End Cruise in which the entire academy sets sail for an evening of dinner and dancing on the Potomac River.
Our Guidance Counselor is available to work closely with the young dancers to help them navigate the pressures of ballet classes, academics and social life.
