After-School Music Program


Kirov Academy is proud to offer excellent training to young musicians through its After-School Program for ages 4 and up. The After-School Program’s highly qualified instructors work with each musicians in a step-by-step approach instilling the solid foundations of classical music, along with character-building qualities such as focus, a strong work ethic, determination, and self-esteem.

Lesson Schedule


  • Morning, afternoon, and evening classes are offered on weekdays. The schedule for Saturdays and Sundays will vary.

Private Lesson

The goal of private lesson instruction is the development of the individual as a musician, pianist, and performer.  In addition to weekly private lessons, students have opportunities to perform each semester in that class, in student recitals, in solo recitals, and in some cases, off-campus as well.  The following private lessons are available: Piano, Violin, Harp, Trumpet, and Voice.

Young Children Pre-Music Division

This division introduces students, Ages 3-6, to the world of classical ballet and music. Young dancers learn their first steps and develop an appreciation for movement and rhythm. Kirov Academy’s highly qualified professionals educate our young students with dedication, passion and enthusiasm.

Virtual Children's Chorus

Students will be divided into grades K-2 and 3-5 age groups. As the groups are small, all choir members will attend the small group voice lessons. Students will be recording their parts independently and sharing them with The Kirov Academy so that an ensemble video can be created. 

  • For students to practice music skills, singing, community, teamwork, and performance in an online setting. 
  • Students will have instructor-led small group voice lessons, community time, and group rehearsals. 
  • There will be a recorded performance piece as well to showcase the work done by students in each session.

Music Faculty


Pianist

Jinha Park 

Dr. Jinha Park has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the most prestigious halls across the United States, Europe, and Asia, including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Seoul Arts Center, Kumho Art Hall (Seoul), and other performances at St. Petersburg (Russia), Perugia (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), and Union City (U.S.). Since 2014, she has been a soloist with the following orchestras including Virtuoso Brunesis Orchestra (Italy), Vienna CMS Chamber Orchestra, Festival Philharmonic Orchestra (Korea), Romanian Oltenia Symphony Orchestra, Alicante Symphony Orchestra (Spain), and Romanian Timișoara Symphony Orchestra.

Dr. Park has served as a faculty member at August State University Conservatory, and as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland University College (Asia, Europe). She has lectured at Sookmyung Women’s University, Chungnam National University, Baekseok Conservatory, and Sunhwa Arts Performing Arts High School in Korea.

Pianist

Victor Shklyar 

Born in 1961, graduated from Belorussian State Conservatory in Minsk. While studying with Igor Olovnikov, Victor received numerous awards at many State and regional competitions, Honorary diploma for outstanding performance on the Churlionis International Competition in Vilnius. He receired his doctorate degree from Sankt Petersburg Conservatory where he also assisted Professor Roman Lebedev with his students. He also studied with Evgeniy Malinin and Evgeniy Mogilevskiy and Performed extensively throughout the former Soviet Union. In his repertoire prominently features music of Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev. Upon relocating to the United States he established and conducted a cycle of master classes in Indianapolis for Homeschooling Association of America, taught privately at the Madeira School, Washington Bible College and presently serves as a pianist at the Kirov Academy of Ballet.

Violinist

Amyr Joyner 

Amyr Joyner has performed in numerous venues across the country and internationally as a fervent orchestral, chamber, and solo performer. His most recent concert engagements include performances at the Grant Park Music Festival’s 2013 Advocate for the Arts Awards Benefit, and chamber music at both the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center at Morehouse in Atlanta, and Symphony Hall in Jacksonville as a member of the Ritz Chamber Players. Joyner has been a member with the Verbier Festival Orchestra, Sphinx Chamber Orchestra, and the Soulful Symphony. He has performed and toured around the country with the Sphinx Virtuosi Orchestra and has performed in venues including Carnegie Hall, Millennium Park, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He has been featured on Atlanta NPR radio and Detroit television news.  He has participated in a number of summer festivals including the Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland, Grant Park Music Festival in Chicago, Colour of Music Festival, Gateways Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, and Heifetz Music Festival. He has also served as a violin teaching artist for the Atlanta Music Project, an El-Sistema based program in Southwest Atlanta. He has performed solos for the Grammy in the Schools National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Convention, and the National Association of Negro Musicians Convention.  Joyner is currently a violinist of the Symphony Orchestra of Augusta, and acts as a substitute violinist for the New World symphony.

Harpist

Yoonee van den Eynde

Yoonee van den Eynde has graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels (Belgium) in 1992, where she received both a first prize in solfège and in harp with the highest distinction. Then, she further mastered her harp studies with Ms. Susan Mac Donald and received a Performance Diploma from the Indiana University (Bloomington) in 1994 . Yoonee also studied with other world renowned teachers such as Ms. Elisabeth Fontan-Binoche and Catherine Michel. Yoonee was selected in 1990 to represent Belgium in a concert focusing on young harpists at the Fourth World Harp Congress in Paris. She has then been awarded numerous prizes for her harp performances including the Rissler Prize in Belgium, first prize in a solo and chamber music at the International Competition (Union of Female Musical Artists) in Paris (France) and a prize from the Foundation Cziffra in Senlis (France). As a performer, she played before the Prince of Luxembourg and the Princess of Carmen Chimay. She has participated in concerts in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Denmark, and the United States as a soloist, in chamber music, and orchestra. She recorded a harp duet CD in1997 which was then broadcasted on Radio France Musique. Currently, Yoonee is an passionate teacher and a freelancer.

Soprano/Voice

Cassidy Dixon

Cassidy Dixon, soprano, is a second-year masters student studying voice and voice pedagogy at Peabody Conservatory with Dr. Stanley Cornett. In 2019, Ms. Dixon graduated from the University of Delaware with an Honors Bachelor of Music in Applied Voice and Music Management Studies Minor. This fall, she will be performing the role of Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutte with Peabody Opera Theatre.

Most recently, she performed the role of Elizabeth Bennet in the stage premiere of Kirke Mechem’s Pride and Prejudice with Peabody Opera Theatre and the role of the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro with University of Delaware Opera Theatre. She is the recent recipient of an Encouragement Award at the Philadelphia District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the second-place winner at the Saltworks Opera Competition, the third-place winner at the Sylvia Green Vocal Competition, and the second-place winner at the Friday Morning Music Club Sue Goetz Ross Vocal Competition. As a voice and general music teacher, Ms. Dixon has worked with musicians of all ages. For the past 3 years, she has instructed voice classes and lessons with the Music in the Somerset Hills Summer Voices Camp. Students at this camp range from second to twelfth grades. For 3 years, Ms. Dixon worked as an assistant teacher for the University of Delaware Community Music School Music For Young Minds classes. Ms. Dixon also has her own private voice studio, where she teaches singers of all ages. Ms. Dixon brings her passion for performing to her students, helping them find their own voice.

Soprano/Voice

Stephanie Miller

Ms. Stephanie L. Miller is a music educator with 17 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school general and choral music. She currently works in Montgomery County Public Schools, but has also taught in Ohio and North Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Otterbein University in Ohio, and a Master of Educational Technology degree from University of Maryland University College. Her passion is choral music and musical theater. She has choreographed for Clarksburg High School and community theater groups, and directed, music directed, and choroegrphed musicals at the elementary level for the past six years.
