Caroline Poppell

Founding Director of Milk Carton on a String/Alumni 2006

Caroline’s inspiring bio can be found on her website, Milk Carton on a String.
"In 2004, Caroline was accepted into the Kirov Academy of Ballet, which she graduated from in 2006. She then moved to NYC where she danced alongside some of the best in the business. She thought she was living the dream, until she went on a relief trip to Haiti two months after the 2010 earthquake. She ended up studying Dance Ministry at Hillsong International Leadership College in Sydney, AU, where she had amazing opportunities including choreographing for the VeggieTales.

Today, Caroline lives full-time in Haiti living the dream teaching kids dance and creative arts classes. Caroline is driven by the fact that dreams are dying every day; she desires to create opportunities and inspire change." In her Interview with The Brunswick News, she told the reporter:
“I have learned so much through teaching the creative arts to these children. Every day is a learning experience as I am living in a culture that is not my own, teaching a subject that is completely foreign, and developing the program day by day on the ground here,” she said. “(But) I believe that teaching them has changed me a lot. It’s given me thicker skin, made me tougher, but it has also broken me as well. I have the privilege and honor of people allowing me to be involved in their lives and that leaves a person changed.
