The grace, discipline and poise of the Kirov Academy lifestyle is combined with the spontaneity, creativity and enthusiasm of developing young adults. Students are supported by Resident Advisors who are selected for their heart of compassion and caring combined with common sense. They know how to give responsible guidance with a parent’s heart.

A number of time-honored traditions are upheld at KA to promote a strong sense of community. Each school year opens with an all-school picnic; Halloween is a particularly SPOOKY time at the academy; Spirit Week arrives around mid-February; and the school year culminates in a Year-End Cruise in which the entire academy sets sail for an evening of dinner and dancing on the Potomac River.
