Sumin won third place in Advanced Division of the 49th Annual Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition
Sumin Lee (17, Violin Year-Round Program) recently won third place in Advanced Division of the 49th Annual Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition in Washington DC, sponsored by Washington Performing Arts Society. Sumin attended Sunhwa Arts High School in Korea and started the Year-Round Program at Kirov Academy in January 2020. She is a student of Emil Chudnovsky.
Greetings Feder Competition Participants!
On behalf of Washington Performing Arts, we would like to congratulate all of this year’s participants for competing in the 49th Annual Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition. We truly enjoyed hearing all of your talents during this process, and we thank you for being part of it. We especially thank you for your flexibility as the competition underwent adjustments in the interest of everyone’s safety. We have been keeping you all in our thoughts and hope you and your families are healthy.
Awards are decided at the judge’s discretion, and details of the awards can be found in the attached guide that is also available on our website.
Comments from the judges will be provided to all participants through email by the end of this week, as well as paperwork for the winners to fill out to receive their prizes.
We hope to hold a concert celebration once we are able to gather again. We will be in contact with that information once we know more!

3rd Place: Sumin Lee
Honorable Mention: Ari Han
