Kirov Academy President Tatiana Moon and Artistic Director, Runqiao Du,  are pleased to announce the first recipients of the Vladimir Djouloukhadze Emerging Artist Scholarship Fund, which was established in honor of the 50-year career of Vladimir Djouloukhadze in ballet and the arts. Mr. Djouloukhadze was one of the first teachers at Kirov Academy, founded 30 years ago, and remains one of the Academy’s finest teachers.  This merit-based award is granted to students exclusively selected by Mr. Djouloukhadze and used to finance training and expenses associated with preparing for, and participating in, prestigious ballet competitions and performances. The program was funded in 2020, with contributions anticipated by corporate and individual donors, including current and former students, and enthusiasts of Mr. Djouloukhadze’s extensive career. The first recipients, who have been selected by Mr. Djouloukhadze for participation in the program are Nora Schaefer and Matteo Ghidoli, both students of Kirov Academy. Kirov Academy is a DC not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(C)(3) accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
