Kirov Academy has engaged a remarkable ballet dancer as the new Artistic Director Mr. Joan Boada

Dear Kirov Students, Parents and Staff,

This is to announce that Kirov Academy has engaged a remarkable ballet dancer as the new Artistic Director of the Ballet Department — Mr. Joan Boada.

Mr. Boada received his impeccable training and foundation of classical repertoire from the prestigious Escuela Nacional de Ballet in Cuba. Mr. Boada was also a guest artist with Ballet de Nancy and San Francisco Ballet. In 1999, he joined the San Francisco Ballet Company as a principal artist and spent more than 17 years performing brilliantly. In 2019, Mr. Boada joined Compania Nacional de Danza Spain as a Ballet Master and Assistant to Choreography, later returning to Virginia in April 2021 to take on the role of Artistic Director at Conservatory Ballet in Reston to date. We are delighted to have Mr. Boada joining Kirov Academy.
